Everybody has mixed experiences when it comes to beds in a hotel. We either love them or hate them. They tend to be either too firm or too soft but occasionally you just might end up in a hotel bed that is more comfortable than your own bed.
With the majority of hotel rooms, the bed is the main focus of the room, so you’d hope that this bed is going to meet your expectations. Although you’re not going to be expecting the best bed in the world to be found in a 2 star hotel. You could say that you get what you pay for, meaning that if you pay for a luxurious hotel then you should expect your bed to be of a high quality… But this isn’t always the case.
Some hotels have over 500 rooms, meaning that they will have over 600 beds! This means that they will have to spend a fortune on buying bed frames to go into their rooms. This can be a highly expensive process so some hotels will cut corners and go for some of the cheapest beds that they can find… Leaving us as the customers stuck with an uncomfortable bed that is far too firm, if it’s not too firm it’ll be ridiculously soft.
Alternatively, some hotels take serious pride in customer satisfaction. This will mean that they will be happy to spend more money on their beds for customers, this can lead to their beds being of a high level of quality and comfort. Possibly even a more supreme level of comfort than we are used to with our own beds, this explains why sometimes hotel beds can be much comfier than our own, due to the bed being of a higher level of comfort and the fact that the bed sheets are changed on a much more regular basis.
Overall, depending on the luxury of the hotel, it will have an impact on the quality of the bed that you sleep on. It’s important to bare this in mind when you book a hotel as the quality of the bed it often included in the price of the room.
